In this section, you can see various attributes that appear while configuring the Rating component. These attributes include:

Note: For non-record pages, the attributes are similar, but some options may be unavailable, such as "Record Object" and "Record Preview''

Attribute Name

Description

Record Object

This represents the object for which the configuration is created. The object is already selected for record page type, as it was chosen during the initial configuration.

Note: This field is disabled and pre-filled for Record Page.

Note: This field is not applicable for Non-Record Page.

Record to Preview

This feature allows users to select an object record to see how the Rating will appear in the preview section after making changes.

Note: This field is not applicable for Non-Record Page.

Label

You can set the title for the Rating here. It offers various value sources to assign to the label which you can explore from reference.

Icon Type

This feature allows users to choose the style of icons or symbols that will be displayed to users when they rate or provide feedback.

Note: For Static icon type, You can choose either

  • Circle

  • Smiley

  • Star

Max Value

This option allows you to take maximum value of rating from your users.

For example, You can set the maximum rating value here, such as 10. This will define the highest rating users can give.

By default, max value is set as 5.

It offers various value sources to assign which you can explore. Reference: Max Value.

Value

  • This option allows you to display the rating on your component based on the value you provide, which can be either static or from other sources.

You can use the value from different value sources which you can explore Reference: Value.

No. of Icons

  • This option allows you to select the number of icon you want to displayed in your Rating.

  • By default, the number of icons is set to 5, with a maximum limit of 10 icons.

Size

This option allows users to set different sizes for the rating component.

Rating sizes are available in four sizes

  • x-small

  • Small

  • Medium

  • Large

Show Value

This option allows users to display the rating value given by others.

For example, if a user gives a 5-star rating for your product, the value "5" will appear slightly above the rating component.

You can control the value of this checkbox by setting or passing the value from various sources which you can explore. Reference: Value Source.

Read Only

If this option is checked, the user cannot change or edit the value from the page or preview.

Padding Location

  • It is used to create space around an element's content.

  • You can set the padding location for Rating as Around, Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Horizontal, Vertical.

Padding Size

You can set the padding Size for Rating as XXX Small, XX Small, X Small, Small, Medium , Large, X Large.

Margin Location

  • It is used to create space from outer edge of an element's content.

  • You can set the Margin location for Rating as Around, Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Horizontal, Vertical.

Margin Size

You can set the Margin Size for Rating as XXX Small, XX Small, X Small, Small, Medium , Large, X large.

Value Source:

In this section, users can choose from various input sources, including:

  • Custom Metadata

  • Custom Setting

  • Record Field (available only in record page configuration)

  • Static Value

These input sources allow you to pass or set values for various attributes or fields.
