In this section, you can see various attributes that appear while configuring the Icon Group. These attributes include:

Note: For non-record pages, the attributes are similar, but some options may be unavailable, such as "Record Object" and "Record Preview''

Attribute Name

Description

Record Object

This represents the object for which the configuration is created. The object is already selected for record page type, as it was chosen during the initial configuration.

Note: This field is disabled and pre-filled for Record Page.

Note: This field is not applicable for Non-Record Page.

Record to Preview

This feature allows users to select an object record to see how the Icon Group will appear in the preview section after making changes.

Note: This field is not applicable for Non-Record Page.

Categories

  • Here users can select icons from multiple categories.

  • Here user can choose multiple categories at same time for selecting the icon, like Utility, Standard, Doctype, Custom, Action.

Size

Here users can select the size of the icon.

  • X Small

  • Small

  • Medium

  • Large

Icons

Here users can choose and add multiple icons.

Alignment

Here users can set alignment for the button group in 3 locations namely:

  1. Center

  2. Left

  3. Right

Note: By default, alignment is set to Left.

Padding Location

  • It is used to create space around an element's content.

  • You can set the padding location for Icon Group as:
    Around, Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Horizontal, Vertical.

Padding Size

You can set the padding Size for Icon Group as:
XXX Small, XX Small, X Small, Small, Medium , Large, X Large.

Margin Location

  • It is used to create space from outer edge of an element's content.

  • You can set the Margin location for Icon Group as:
    Around, Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Horizontal, Vertical.

Margin Size

You can set the Margin Size for Icon Group as:
XXX Small, XX Small, X Small, Small, Medium , Large, X large.

Configuration Attribute

Description

Value Source

Here user can select a value source for category, from the values sources, namely:

  1. Static: This field is fixed, simply manually enter the values.

  2. Record Field: Use values from objects fields.

By default, value source selected is Static.

Value Type

This is a read-only field that shows the data type of the field for the icon.

Value

Here user can select the icon category depending on the value source.
Utility, Doctype, Standard, Custom, Action are the icon categories from the Salesforce Lightning Design System.

Icon Attribute

Description

Name

Assign a name to the Icon.

Select Icon

Here user can simply select the desired icon.

Note: User can only select the icons from the categories as he selected.

Visible

Allows users to decide visibility of icon depending on criteria they choose from dropdown, namely:

Note: the conditional filter is not available for Non-Record Page

  1. Always: Icon is always visible.

  2. Never: Icon is never visible.

  3. Conditional: Icon is conditionally visible, depending on custom logic.
    Filter Criteria

Read Only

Allows users to decide read only ability of icon depending on criteria they choose from dropdown, namely:

  1. Always: Icon is always disabled.

  2. Never: Icon is never disabled.

  3. Conditional: Icon is conditionally visible, depending on custom logic
    Filter Criteria.

  • The Filter Criteria feature allows you to sort and refine the data in the config object records based on specific conditions. You can apply different types of filtering criteria to control when the icon should be visible or disable:

  • In addition to conditional-based filters, you can also select values from various sources to filter the data.

Static Filter criteria:

In this section, provide a value to compare or check against the selected field. You can provide a value by clicking on the gear icon.

Custom Logic for Multiple Filters:

Custom Condition Logic in Salesforce allows you to define complex filtering criteria by combining multiple filter conditions using logical operators like AND, OR, and NOT.

  • AND means all conditions must be true.

  • OR means at least one condition must be true.

Value Source:

In this section, users can choose from various input sources, including:

  • Custom Metadata

  • Custom Setting

  • Record Field (available only in record page configuration)

  • Static Value

These input sources allow you to pass or set values for various attributes or fields.
